*Editor’s Note: This was an assignment for Journalism 304: Media Writing for Audiences. Our assignment was to create a mock advertisement based on the Jet Blue series “All you can…” for the location of our partner’s hometown. We interviewed our partner and put together an advertisement based on what information we got from the interview.

All You Can Hike

Parker, Colorado. The perfect place to hike to your heart’s content, high in the rocky mountains, or low along the Cherry Creek river in Castlewood Canyon. Known for its bouldering, crawdad fishing, and jagged natural features, Castlewood Canyon is the perfect place for your day trip. Erin Markel, who grew up in Parker, says one of her favorite memories is when she climbed to the top of the canyon to watch the sunset with her family. She also says it is an amazing place for visitors to slowly get introduced to the mountains, altitude, and geography. And if you’d like to visit somewhere outside the canyon in Parker, Erin recommends the Phillip S Miller Park and Challenge Hills or Bayou Gulch, places where you can try something new. Keep an eye out for deer- they like to travel through the area. And remember to drink water, and take some pictures!
